Consists of 3 parts:  a treble crochet stitch, a chain stitch and a double crochet stitch. The combination of these 3 stitches is what creates the awesome Y-stitch.

STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES USED


CHAIN (abbrev. ch)
YO and pull through the loop on hook.

SINGLE CROCHET (abbrev. sc)
Insert hook in stitch, YO and pull up loop (2 loops on your hook), YO again and pull through both loops on hook.

Y-STITCH
Tr in stitch indicated, 1ch, 1dc under the lower 2 loops of treble stitch just made.

DOUBLE CROCHET (abbrev. dc)
YO, insert hook in stitch, YO and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), YO and pull through the first 2 loops on hook (2 loops on hook), YO again and pull through both loops on hook.

TREBLE CROCHET STITCH (abbrev. tr)
YO twice, insert hook in stitch, YO and pull up loop (4 loops on hook), YO and pull through the first 2 loops on hook (3 loops on hook), YO and pull through the first 2 loops on hook (2 loops on hook), YO again and pull through the remaining 2 loops on hook.

CROCHETING INTO THE BACK BUMP OF A CHAIN
When you turn your chain, you’ll see a small ‘bump’ on the wrong side of each stitch.



START CROCHETING |


The turning chains at the beginning of even rows count as a stitch, while in odd rows they do not count as a stitch.

Number of rows in pattern repeat : 2

No reversible.

TO BEGIN: chain multiple 3 + 2+ 1 turning chain.

R1 | Starting in 2nd ch through back bumps, 1 sc to end.

R2 | 4 ch (counts as 1 tr st), turn, skip 1 st, 1 Y-stitch, [skip 2 sts, 1 Y-stitch] repeat until last 2 sts, skip 1 st, 1 tr in last st.

R3 | 1 ch, turn, 1 sc to end.

Repeat R2 y R3 until you reach desired size.
