YO and pull through the loop on hook.
SINGLE CROCHET (abbrev. sc)
Insert hook in stitch, YO and pull up loop (2 loops on hook), YO again and pull through both loops on hook.
HALF DOUBLE CROCHET (abbrev. hdc)
YO, insert hook in stitch, YO and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), YO and pull through all 3 loops on the hook.

- ch = chain
- hdc = half double crochet
- sc = single crochet
- st (s) = stitch (es)
START CROCHETING |
Worked from left to right along the edge of a thermal stitch base (⇒ TUTORIAL)
Number of stitches must be odd.
TO BEGIN: make a slip knot .
STEP 01. place slip knot on hook, insert hook in second last st and make (sc, 2hdc) in same st, sc in last st, 4ch, now, crochet from left to right, skip 1 st, (sc, 2hdc) in next st, sc in previously skipped st, first volutes are finished.
STEP 02. crochet from left to right, skip 1 st, (sc, 2hdc) in next st, sc in previously skipped st.
Repeat step 02 until last st, 2ch and sc in last st, volute edge is ready.
