Stacked Single Crochet in Rounds

The stacked single crochet is a perfect alternative to turning chains when working in joined rounds in crochet.

Instead of starting the round with chains, we stack single crochet stitches on top of each other until we reach the desired height. This gives us a much cleaner and more even start.

It also helps avoid the small gap that turning chains usually create, resulting in a more compact and professional finish.

It’s ideal for projects worked in the round, where you want the join to go unnoticed and the fabric to look continuous.

Here I show you how it works when crocheting in the round.

Once you try it, it’s hard to go back to turning chains.
