Jack was a smart farmer, he managed at cheating twice to the devil. By using a crucifix, he caught him and push him to promise he will never take his soul. When Jack died, he couldn’t go to heaven because he had a sinful life, but he could’t go to hell either because of that trick of the pass. So, Jack found himself alone in the darkness and took an ember that the devil had thrown away and introduced it in an empty turnip. Legend says that, since then, Flashlight-Jack with his Jack-o´Lantern (the way Anglo Saxons call sculpted pumpkins) is wandering eternally looking forward to find a rest he will never find.
