También disponible en: Español
AQUÍJane Birkin was an iconic British actress, singer, and model with a distinctive style and a significant impact on pop culture. A versatile artist of great elegance, her bohemian image and unique voice turned her into a timeless icon. Her career was filled with achievements and contributions to the arts and culture that left an unforgettable legacy.
BEFORE STARTING…
A seamless mini bag made in a single piece. Its construction is incredibly simple as the base, body, and handles of the bag are all crocheted at once in a spiral form.
The first step involves creating the oval base of the bag using basic crochet stitches. Following that, the body of the bag is crocheted using a variation of the half double crochet slip stitch, which adds a unique and voluminous effect.
As you progress through the pattern, the mini bag starts to take shape and wide. Its size and design are perfect for carrying headphones or other small items you need to have at hand.

CROCHETING INTO THE BACK BUMP OF A CHAIN
Usually you crochet in the right side of the chain. When you turn your chain, you’ll see a small ‘bump’ on the wrong side of each stitch.
INVISIBLE FASTEN OFF
Cut yarn, pull yarn tail through last stitch made and thread tail through yarn needle. Insert needle under both loops at the top of the second stitch of the round and pull yarn through. Then, insert needle through back loop of the last stitch made and pull yarn tail through. You’ve created a false stitch, tighten it by pulling on the yarn tail until it mimics the size of your other stitches.
SPECIAL STITCH |
TWO HALF DOUBLE SLIP STITCH (abbrev. thdcss)
YO, insert hook in last stitch and pull up a loop (3 loops on your hook), insert hook in next stitch, YO and pull through stitch and the first two loops on hook (2 loops on your hook), YO and pull through TWO loops on hook.

NOTES
- This pattern is written in US terminology.
- This pattern is worked bottom-up.
- We will crochet an oval base instead of a circular one, working it in a spiral without any joins. This is done by working around the foundation chain; first on one side of the chain and then on the other.
- Always place a marker in the last stitch of each round to keep track and not get lost.
