Garter Crochet Stitch

STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES USED

CHAIN (abbrev. ch)
YO and pull through the loop on hook.

SLIP STITCH (abbrev. sl st)
Insert hook in stitch, YO and pull through stitch and loop on hook.

THROUGH BACK LOOP (abbrev. tbl)
The back loop is furthest away from you.

THROUGH FRONT LOOP (abbrev. tfl)
The front loop is the loop closest to you.

CROCHETING INTO THE BACK BUMP OF A CHAIN
When you turn your chain, you’ll see a small ‘bump’ on the wrong side of each stitch.

START CROCHETING | GARTER STITCH

• Turning chain at the beginning of row do not count as a stitch.
• Number of rows in pattern repeat : 2
• Not reversible.

To begin | any number +1 turning chain. 

R1 | Starting in 2nd ch through back bumps, 1 slst in each st to end of chain. 

R2 | 1 ch, turn, 1 slst-tfl in each st to end of row.

R3 | 1 ch, turn, 1 slst-tbl in each st to end of row.

Repeat R2 and R3 until you reach desired size.
