Elizabeth Crochet Stitch | When you crochet the Elisabeth stitch you’ll see its only one repeat row that creates a reversible fabric. So even though the stitches themselves lean in opposite directions, it’s the same on both sides.

The Elizabeth stitch is also known as the Mini Bean stitch as it resembles little beans.

STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES USED


CHAIN (abbrev. ch)
YO and pull through the loop on hook.

CROCHETING INTO THE BACK BUMP OF A CHAIN
Usually you crochet in the right side of the chain. When you turn your chain, you’ll see a small ‘bump’ on the wrong side of each stitch.

ELIZABETH STITCH
Insert hook in stitch, YO and pull up loop (2 loops on your hook), YO, insert hook in same stitch, YO and pull up loop (4 loops on your hook), YO and pull through all 4 loops on hook, make 1 chain.



START CROCHETING |


  • Turning chain at the beginning of row do not count as a stitch.
  • Number of rows in pattern repeat : 1
  • Reversible.

TO BEGIN: multiple 2 + 1 turning chain.

ROW 01. Starting in 3rd ch through back bumps, elizabeth stitch in next ch, [skip ch, elizabeth stitch in next ch] repeat to end.

ROW 02. ch, turn, sk 2ch, elizabeth stitch in next stitch, [sk ch, elizabeth stitch in next stitch] repeat to end.

Repeat rows 02 until desired length is reached.
