Twisted Single Crochet and Reverse Single Crochet are used as edges and look similar, although the way to work them is different:
-Twisted Single Crochet (false crab stitch); the stitches are worked from right to left.
-Reverse Single Crochet (crab stitch); the stitches are worked from left to right.

STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES USED


SLIP STITCH (abbrev. sl st)
Insert hook in stitch, YO and pull through stitch and loop on hook.

SINGLE CROCHET (abbrev. sc)
Insert hook in stitch, YO and pull up loop (2 loops on your hook), YO again and pull through both loops on hook.



START CROCHETING |


To begin: make a slip knot 

Row 01 | Insert hook in stitch, YO and pull up loop (2 loops on your hook). Leaving 2 loops on hook loosely, rotate hook anti clockwise 360 degrees. YO and pull through both loops on hook.

The first twisted single crochet it now complete.

Repeat steps until last st, slst in last stitch.
