“CORI HEART” – CROCHET PATTERN BY HILARIA FINA

THE INSPIRATION + DESIGN

We are sending colored hearts these modern era digital days through the Apps to express different feelings and emotions. We are more traditional and prefer to give away beautiful hearts made of crochet.

Here you have main colours meanings; you can choose the one you need for every occasion:❤️ red is love and passion, green is health and renewal, yellow is energy and brilliance,  blue is trust and calm, purple is sophistication and mystery,   orange is joy and success, white is purity and goodness, brown is stability and safety,  black is elegance and y seriousness.

STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES USED

MAGIC RING
Wrap yarn around two fingers, leaving 7cm long tail. Insert hook right to left under the two rows and pick the strand up (the one that leads to the skein), pulling the yarn back under the two rows, YO and pull through the loop (do not count as first stitch). Keep working the following stitches into the ring. Remove the ring from your fingers and pull the tail end to tight the ring.

CHAIN (abbrev. ch)
YO and pull through loop on hook.

SLIP STITCH (abbrev. sl st)
Insert hook in stitch, YO and pull through both loops on hook at once.

HALF DOUBLE CROCHET (abbrev. hdc)
YO, insert hook in stitch, YO and pull through the stitch (3 loops on hook), YO and pull through all 3 loops on hook at once.

DOUBLE CROCHET (abbrev. dc)
YO, insert hook into the stitch, YO and pull the yarn through the stitch (3 loops on your hook), YO and pull through the first 2 loops on the hook in one go (2 loops remain on the hook), YO again and pull through the remaining 2 loops on the hook.

TREBLE CROCHET (abbrev. tr)
YO twice, insert hook into the stitch, YO and pull the yarn through the stitch (4 loops on the hook),YO and pull through the first 2 loops on the hook (3 loops remain on the hook), YO and pull through the first 2 loops again (2 loops remain on the hook), YO again and pull through the remaining 2 loops on the hook.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Crochet hook 4.00 mm (G US)
• Needle yarn
• Scissors
• Yarn: 8 ply / DK / light worsted
  Drops Muskat (100% mercerized cotton), 50g/1.8oz, 100m (109yds), 10 x 10 cm = 21 sts x 28 rows :
  nº 05 (powder pink)
  nº 76 (sky blue)
  nº 04 (lilac)
  nº 41(bordeaux)

SIZE

• Using light worsted weight yarn, finished item will be approx. 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm.
• Choose a different yarn weight with the corresponding crochet hook size to make a bigger or smaller version.

Rnd 01. (2ch, dc, tr, dc, 4hdc, dc, 4hdc, dc, tr, dc, 2ch, slst) into the ring.

Cut the yarn and weave in all ends.

ASSEMBLY

Sew two together and stuff lightly for a puffy heart!
