Chriseye Christmas Bauble

Chriseye Christmas Bauble

Chriseye Christmas Bauble

Sculptor Anish Kapoor (Bombay, 1970) is the author of the artwork “Tall Tree & The Eye,” located at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. Composed of nearly 80 stainless steel spheres, the piece reflects and multiplies its surroundings, creating a fascinating play of reflections.

Our “Chriseye” (Christmas Eye) has also been designed to be placed on a tree, and just like Kapoor’s work, it reflects its environment and brings a wonderfully festive atmosphere to life.

BEDORE STARTING…

Chriseye is made up of three pieces, each with a specific function in the final design. First, we crochet the inner part, which will serve as the base for embroidering the spiral. This piece is important because it defines the visual center of the ball, which we will embroider with silver yarn to add a touch of light. In the center, we will place a stud, which reinforces the central point and completes the finish.

Next, we crochet the outer part, which surrounds and protects the inner piece, adding the characteristic depth to the design. Then we create the hanger base, where we will insert the cord to hang the ball on the tree or anywhere else.

The result is a firm decorative ball. Perfect for gifting, decorating, or simply enjoying the process of creating Christmas amigurumis.

BACK LOOP

SPECIAL TECHNIQUES

INVISIBLE DECREASE
Insert the hook into the front loop of the first stitch and into the front loop of the second stitch you want to decrease (3 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through both front loops. Yarn over again and pull through both loops on the hook at the same time.
INVISIBLE FASTEN OFF
This technique is used to finish off the edge neatly. Follow these steps:
Cut the yarn, pull the loop through the last completed stitch, and thread the needle. Skip the first stitch and insert the needle under both loops of the second stitch of the last row. Then, go back and insert the needle into the last stitch through the back loop. This creates a false stitch that results in a completely invisible join. To finish, weave the ends.
