STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES USED

CHAIN (abbrev. ch)
YO and pull through the loop on hook.

SINGLE CROCHET (abbrev. sc)
Insert hook in stitch, YO and pull up loop (2 loops on your hook), YO again and pull through both loops on hook.

CROCHETING INTO THE BACK BUMP OF A CHAIN ⇒ VIDEO
When you turn your chain, you’ll see a small ‘bump’ on the wrong side of each stitch.

PUFF STITCH
YO, insert hook in indicated stitch, YO, pull up a long loop (3 loops on hook), YO, insert hook in same stitch, YO, pull up a long loop (5 loops on hook), YO and pull through all 5 loops.

START CROCHETING |

Turning chain at the beginning of row does not count as a stitch.

Number of rows in pattern repeat : 1

TO BEGIN | multiple of 2 + 1 + 1 turning chain.

R1 | working through back bumps of chain, (1 sc, 1 puff st) in second ch, [skip next st, (1 sc, 1 puff st) in next st] repeat to last 2 sts, skip next st, 1 sc in last st.

R2 | ch 1, turn, (1 sc, 1 puff st) in first st, [skip next st, (1 sc, 1 puff st) in next st] repeat to last 2 sts, skip next st, 1 sc in last st.

Repeat R2 until reaching the desired size.
