CROCHETING INTO THE BACK BUMP OF A CHAIN tutorial ⇒ HERE

Usually you crochet in the right side of the chain. When you turn your chain, you’ll see a small ‘bump’ on the wrong side of each stitch.

STACKED SINGLE CROCHET tutorial ⇒ HERE

In the pattern, at the beginning of the odd rows, we use the stacked single crochet, which creates a clean and even edge. If you’re not comfortable using it, you can substitute the stacked single crochet with two chains, which will count as one stitch. However, if you want your edge to be perfectly neat and uniform, we recommend using the stacked single crochet; it’s a small detail that really makes a difference in the finish of your fabric.

STEP BY STEP PATTERN

Notes

  • The turning chain at the beginning of even rows does not count as a stitch.
  • Odd rows begin with a stacked single crochet, which counts as a double crochet.
  • The first and last stitch of each odd row are worked through both loops.
